Suhail Ulla, a resident of Ragigudda, was returning house after his working hours at a cell phone store on February 12, when he met with an accident on Savalanga Street. Whereas driving his two-wheeler, Suhail Ulla hit a newly-laid velocity bump at excessive velocity, inflicting him to be thrown off the bike and maintain a critical head damage. Three days later, he succumbed to his accidents in a hospital within the metropolis. Video footage captured by CCTV cameras put in by a store close to the accident website went viral on social media. Quickly after the accident, the residents of the locality took the initiative to make sure that the velocity bump was eliminated with the assistance of an earth mover.

Moreover the deadly accident, there have been a number of minor mishaps within the metropolis as a result of not too long ago laid unscientific humps. A senior citizen driving a two-wheeler fell off the automobile after hitting a hump on the identical highway. Common commuters on the highway that connects the railway station to Vinoba Nagar additionally suffered jolts as a result of newly laid hump close to the railway station.

The general public complained to the Shivamogga Metropolis Company and the police that unscientific highway humps, which lack correct signage, warnings, and reflective paint, are inflicting accidents. They demanded that the authorities take away such humps instantly.

Mayanna Gowda, the commissioner of the company, held a gathering with officers relating to the difficulty on Tuesday. He fashioned a staff of officers to examine all of the humps constructed in current months and determine these that don’t meet the required requirements. The officers travelled across the metropolis on two-wheelers and four-wheelers, figuring out greater than 15 such humps.

The commissioner has instructed the media that the unscientific highway humps could be eliminated and measures could be taken to make sure the humps meet the requirements set by the Indian Street Congress.
