Director Common of Police (Prisons) Alok Kumar inspected the Central jail at Hindalga in Belagavi, Karnataka, on February 17.

He stated that he had sought a report from officers on how some prisoners have been capable of make calls on cell phones regardless of the set up of community sign jammers within the jail.

“There have been studies that some inmates have been utilizing cell phones and SIM playing cards. Police officers have seized telephones and SIM playing cards throughout raids in jails in Belagavi, and in different places. Mr Kumar stated he performed a complete assessment of the safety preparations. He warned officers of strict motion in the event that they fail to stop unlawful actions contained in the jail, like use of cell phones, use of banned substances, or some other violation.

He stated that Hindalga was one of many oldest prisons in Karnataka, and the constructing was fairly previous.

He stated the safety and surveillance system in jails throughout Karnataka can be strengthened.

He was accompanied by Chetan Singh Rathod, IGP (Northern Vary), T.P. Shesha, IGP (Prisons), Belagavi Police Commissioner Borase Bhushan Gulabrao, Superintendent of Police Ok. Ramarajan, and jail Superintendent Krishnamurthy.
